Chevrolet will participate in two upcoming NASCAR Sprint Cup Series races and, at the same time, will be helping in the fight against breast cancer.
Chevrolet will donate $200 to the American Cancer Society for each caution lap driven in the upcoming NASCAR races at the Atlanta Motor Speedway and the Richmond International Raceway. The vehicle slated for the challenge is a specially themed pink Camaro SS pace car. ?The Atlanta race will air at 7:30 pm Sunday on ESPN while the Richmond race will occur at 7:30 pm on Sept. 10, televised on ABC.
?For 100 years, Chevy has been helping people along the journey of life in countless ways,? said Alan Batey, Chevrolet vice president, Sales and Service. ?But as we all know, sometimes life?s journeys take detours or end too early. Together with our race fans, Chevrolet wants to help the American Cancer Society create a world with less cancer, more birthdays and longer journeys.?
Along with the upcoming races, Chevrolet also plans to show its support towards breast cancer charity by partnering with the American Cancer Society?s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer initiative leading up to Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October. Chevrolet will announce more events benefiting the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer initiative later in the year.
