Google officially announced its flagship Nexus 4 smartphone on Monday. The 4.7-inch Android handset features a super-speedy Snapdragon S4 Pro processor, but it's lacking in one major department. Brace yourselves, folks, as the Nexus 4 will not be sporting the LTE-capabilities we've been spoiled by in rival handsets.
That aside (yes, it's a big one, but let's focus on the good stuff for a minute), the Nexus 4 stacks up quite well against its competitors -- most especially in its sleek design, with an etched glass backing. As for the guts, you get 2GB of RAM and two different storage options: 8GB for $299 or 16GB for $349. Additionally, T-Mobile will offer an unlocked model for $199 with a two-year service agreement.?
Google's Nexus 4 also packs an 8-megapixel camera, along with a front-facing 1.3 megapixel. And while we're on the topic, you'll also be able to snap better (well, bigger, at least) shots with Photo Sphere. The program lets you capture 360-degree images by shooting in every possible direction. And if you're into sharing, you can add your pics directly to Google Maps.?
As for the 2100 mAh battery, it promises roughly 10 hours of talk time. Oh, and Nexus 4 runs on a brand new flavor of Android's latest Jelly Bean OS (Android 4.2). The new smartphone is also pimping Google's new wireless charging system, which lets you power up by simply setting your phone down on a charging surface.
